A typical week in the life of me
Conversation with security guard at high school, "That student was suspended for 3 days for cussing out a teacher." Me, "that's great so when he does that to me I can turn in a referral and they'll suspend him again?" Security, " Well no, it's different for bus drivers, he won't be suspended he'll get detention." Me, "Why?" S., "It's just a different situation."
This conversation is about the same kid who snorted coke or crack on my bus (but that's pure speculation on my part). It doesn't matter that he was rubbing his nose after I saw him sniff something up his nose, then sneezed violently several times, then when he saw a police officer on the side of the road started yelling - no screaming at him. Then reached over and started making out with his girlfriend in a really aggressive way and when I called him on it he yelled at me, "what the f.."
And then Friday a little boy in the afternoon starts crying on the bus, thankfully while I'm still at the school. I tried to comfort him but to no avail and asked the lady on the ramp if she could help. While she's trying to calm him down he throws up so she's all freaking out - I said you have a clinic right? He needs to go there now. Thankfully she got him off the bus I think after he lost breakfast and lunch, gross. I am so thankful for kitty litter that clumps...and absorbs odors, man made miracle!
I think a time is coming where things may have to change for me. I have to last at least 3 more years and I'll have retirement from this job, not much but something is better than nothing. So I need to start working toward something else. A different road.
We went to a craft show yesterday and I got information on entering it next year. Maybe this will be the start of something. Got to start getting ready. It will take about a year since I don't have much ready, anything actually. I guess I could frame some of my over the road photos. That's a beginning. And then there's always caricatures and pet portraits - I really don't like doing them -sometimes you compromise.

Word for the day: Random
Random stuff; it' 4:02 a.m. and I can't sleep. Since I've been sick
and taking medicine it's really messed up my system so I'm wide awake.
I will probably go back to bed when it's time to get up.
Here's some random pictures.
My flowers that grow in a pot I don't think has any soil left in it.
She seems to really love Yosi and that's a good thing. She's a good little dog.
both of us sick didn't want to stand in line. We'll try again today and then if
worse comes to it we'll just vote on election day and hopefully the lines won't be as long
since so many people voted early. I will keep my fingers crossed.

sick
I went to the Dr. yesterday for the rest of my physical, weird insurance, can't do everything at once. I just happened to be sick too - so convenient. She told me to stop hanging around people who smoke it's making me sick. I didn't tell her about the mold on my bus which I believe is a huge contributer to headaches, allergies and now this rotten cold, flu? She gave me an antibiotic to take if I start running a fever.
Thankfully Chuck isn't sick but Corey, who doesn't live here is. Jesse said she's had a sinus infection for a month. I will be glad when everyone is well.

Monday
till sunday
Tuesday, Jesse came over and left her dog while she went and got her hair done. Her dog peed on my bedroom rug and then laughed about it.
But she really loves Jesse.
Wednesday I went to Corey's for cinnamon rolls yummy and forgot my camera. Darn it! We had yummy cinnamon rolls and Starbucks - I finally finished my gift card.
Saturday
older than I thought
I thought I would get my sewing machine out and see if I could fix it. So I found my instruction book to see if it had any useful information. When I looked at the picture on the front I realized my sewing machine is a lot older than I thought. I did get it running though - how well remains to be seen.

Thursday
Little known fact
When I was a teenager I wanted to be a fashion designer. I learned how to sew and decided to design and make my prom dress. Unfortunately, I didn't give myself enough time for the project and though I learned how to sew (the basics) I didn't learn how to make something without a pattern. I started the project but did not finish and with prom a few days away went back to the store bought a pattern and more fabric and made my dress. It was yellow satin, a halter top that gathered in the front and flowed down to the ground, it was the 70's long was in. Next time I go to my mom's I'll get a picture and post it.
Why this post = I love Project Runway!! I think they kept the right designers! The feather wedding dress was awesome. I also really liked the one inspired by water (sorry don't remember the designers name). Like the judge said about the water inspired dress the bridesmaids dress was just so pretty or cute, whatever he said. They make me want to design again or sew anyway.

Monday
Happy late birthday Christopher!!!!!!!!!!
I'm always late on the birthday wishes on my blog, sorry - kissifer.
Anyway we went out with Christopher, Corey, Valerie (Chris' sis), Trevor, and Christopher's parents to a little pizza place on 50 and Alafaya Trail. I was really surprised at how good the food was (because it was in a strip mall). YUMMY!!! Garlic knots, wings (some of the best I've had), and pizza. Then his mom said that restaurant was where they used to meet Chris and his sis while they were going to UCF so it's also a sentimental thing for them.
I really enjoyed it and got to wear my new outfit Corey picked out. Christopher said he really liked my shirt and whoever picked it out must be smart and beautiful. Yep!

Shopping with Corey
Corey text(ed) me Tuesday and asked what I was doing. She wanted me to go somewhere with her. I told her I was tired and she said too bad she'd planned something. I tried to get her to tell me...she'd gotten a $100 gift card from Dillards and wanted to take me shopping. She told me she was going to pick out an outfit for me and I was going to wear it. She said it would fit me, not be too big, and look good. I told her I like to be comfortable. So here's the outfit. I love it!! And Corey's too good to me. Thank you baby!!! (She's been watching to much, "What not to wear, 'cause she told me she would get to throw away one of my outfits. ooohh)

Tuesday
The abominable snowman
Jesse shows up at the house this morning with this. This... that I have
to take care of while she recooperates from her wisdom teeth being surgically removed.
I asked what her name is and Jesse says she doesn't have one so I named her
Yeti and told Jesse to take her back where she got her from!!!
Oh and Jesse is recooperating, sleeping soundly right now.
Monday
scary
I think a high school kid was doing coke on my bus this afternoon and I don't mean the liquid version.
Sunday
Thursday
take home art..
A peice of art I did for the art night at church. This is actually not finished I forgot to take a picture of it completed. It has glass in the shape of a drop of water around the cross. The theme was "Living sent in your sphere of influence. Be the drop from which God's water(love) flows."
Each of the circles is a little world magnet that I had people take with them to remind them to live the theme of the missions conference. Live sent in your world.
On another note, I love this weather!!!!!!

Monday
Why do kids lie?
I can watch a kid do something on the bus and get after them and they will look me right in the eyes and say they didn't do it. Frustrating...aarrgghh!!!!
Sunday
Thursday
cute and sad
Thursday morning on the bus:
Lisbeth...kindergartener gets on the bus. Little tiny sister starts crying because she didn't get to give her a kiss bye. Lots of kids are getting on the bus and you can't move backwards thru the bunch. So when all kids are on Dad brings tiny sister to the bus door and starts yelling, "Lisbeth, Lisbeth." So I told her to go give her sister a kiss bye - just too cute.
But at my next stop another tiny Chris gets on the bus crying. I ask him what's wrong and he tells me Jess took his $5. I told him to sit down and call Jess to the front and ask him if it's true. He says his parents gave it to them to split at lunch. {I did not know they were brothers because they don't have the same last name.) Knowing 5th grade and 1st don't go at the same time for lunch I ask how will he pay for his brother. He says he will give it to the lunch lady and tell her it's for both of them, hmmm I do not like being lied to. So I tell him to go tell Chris this. I watch and he gives Chris the $5 and goes back to his seat. Not a nice thing for him to do so when he gets off the bus I tell him if he takes his brother's money again I will call his Mom. Look of fear....

Thursday
just gettin by
Haven't been on-line much lately. Didn't miss it. Been trying to get used to my work schedule again and learn about 260 kids names. I almost have all 77 of my elementary school names down, almost. When they are behind you and you are looking at them in the mirror - while driving - it seems to make it a little more difficult.
I'm very thankful that the latest hurricane decided to skirt the coast and not visit us. I hope the one behind it will do the same. Can't take much more water here. Too many roads closed, too much flooding. Don't want to have to make up days at work either!
I want to open an account with Etsy but just can't seem to come up with a name. I've started to a couple of times and when I get to that part I just go blank and stop. Any suggestions? Chuck came up with Vivacious Vickie's - I can't remember the rest and I didn't like it anyway.
Keep my friend Tina and her family in your prayers. Her husband had surgery Tues. and is having a lot of pain and a fever. Hopefully he will improve and be able to go home Friday or Saturday.
