Total books owned: Do I actually have to count. They are everywhere. I guess around 200.

Last book I bought: I'm getting ready to purchase, The Pressures Off by Larry Crab (I think)

Last book read: Straight Talk by Joyce Meyer

Five books that mean alot to me:
I am going to count the Bible,
I agree its an owner's manual,a healing manual,
and just about anything else that deals with living
(yeah, I know that means owner's manual).
Walking on Water by Madeleine L'engle
The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren
Teaching to Change Lives by Howard G. Hendricks
The Narnia Books by C.S. Lewis (looking forward to the movie)

Saturday

Awesome
I had to post these pictures mom sent me I thought they were really neat. As a kid growing up with dad in the Air Force we went to a lot of air shows. I loved them. These brought back great memories. Also had to post some thoughts she sent. Good stuff mom. The pictures are of the Navy's Blue Angels

Consider These 3 Thoughts

(1) Zero Gravity
When NASA first started sending up astronauts, they quickly discovered that ball-point pens would not work in zero gravity. To combat this problem, NASA scientists spent a decade and $12 Million developing a pen that writes in zero gravity, upside-down, on almost any surface including glass and at temperatures ranging from below freezing to over 300 C.

The Russians used a pencil.

Your taxes will be due again next April---enjoy paying them!

(2) Our Constitution
"They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq. Why don't we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it's worked for over 200 years and, we're not using it anymore."

(3) Ten Commandments
The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments in a Courthouse is that you cannot post "Thou Shalt Not Steal," "Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery" and "Thou Shall Not Lie" in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians! It creates a hostile work environment!

I know these "thoughts" seem contradictory to the patriotism of the photos but that's not how I mean it to be.

Thursday

My Baby

Corey called me from work and said she quit. Yeah, I hated her working there. I asked her what she was going to do next and she said, "go to church Sunday, I haven't been in forever." This is so true. I wish she would play piano at church. She could do it and do it well. It is what she's going to school for.
I had an interview Tuesday and I hope I get the job. My health insurance costs have gone up again and I can no longer afford to have it solo. I know the job would not be easy but I've learned a lot since the last one and with God's help believe I can do it. The benefits are good and lots of off time. Plus its a lot closer to home.
I would miss the people where I work now but I'm only there between 4 to 7 hours a week. Thats just not enough.
Jesse called she wants to work at the youth camps longer than June but she'll lose her job if she does, so I say no. Will she listen?

Sunday

My Baby

Yesterday we got to see Jesse.  She was in St. Cloud overnight.  She was supposed to be going to Panama City but the storm was headed that way so that's why the pit stop.  It was really great to see her.  She is so excited about what she's doing this summer.  Two of the kids in her group accepted Christ last week.  She also is getting to spend time with the group Casting Crowns.  She got to play guitar with their guitarist for a couple of hours.  Very exciting.

On the way to see her I took pictures of pretty skies.

Yes this is really fuzzy.  I took Jesse to Tennessee and drove back alone, something I wouldn't have done a while back.  I was trying to take a picture of the really mountainous roads I was driving on but the truck is kind of bumpy.  It was a good trip though.  I will miss Jesse, she'll be gone a whole month.
