Friday

I was just looking at my blog, it's been awhile. I wish we could get a laptop this time at home but need to wait. We got our licenses and our truck and a load home, don't remember the exact date. We left Aug 15th for our 1st real trip and got home this morning, Sept. 8th at 4am. Long trip. We have been to Alabama, Miss, Louisiana, Texas several times, New Mexico, California, Chicago, Gary Indiana, Oklahoma, and I know I am forgetting somewhere. Our air conditioning quit in the desert in Arizona on the way to California, 103* and on the way back from CA - near the same area 110*. You know how they say, "but it's a dry heat" that just means absolutely suffocating!!!!

I've seen some amazing things and plan to post pictures when I get my camera out of the truck. I can't believe I left it. One really great thing that happened - we got to go see Jesse and Eric when we broke down for a week in California. They live in a beautiful area, Monterey Bay. They live in a tiny one bedroom, LR, Kitchen, I guess kind of like efficiency. Jesse got a job as a guide taking people on rides to the beach on clydesdales, and other large type horses, in an area called the highlands because it looks like scotland or ireland. I know pictures please.
They are cute together. It's so hard to believe I have a married daughter.

It is really good to be home!!!! Corey and I splurged and got manicures and pedicures. Makes me feel like a girl again. Its good to see Corey practicing, I mean hear, and hear about Rollins. She says hard but happy to be there. And she got another job at church with the kids, she seems very happy with it. It's all good!

Praise God for getting us home safe!
Wow, another 2 weeks of training have passed. We're home for a day and a 1/2 and then off again for another 3 days training, CDL testing, and hopefully our own truck next Friday. We shall see.....

Sunday

I don't have time for a long post now but here's the latest. We passed the school -
the hardest thing I've ever done. We leave tomorrow for 2 weeks over the road and then to another state for more CDL practice and then our CDL test. This has been hard!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here's what we've been driving.

Wednesday

I had to show off this picture Corey drew the other night, awesome, she's got talent.
This will probably be my last post for awhile. We leave Friday for Charlotte and truck school, 3 weeks long. Sunday my family had an early BD party for me since I won't be here. T-bone steaks cooked the best by dad. Lots of fun and tears.
Sorry mom the pictures I took outside so I don't have one with you..
the 1st picture Corey took. I like.

Trish, Dad and me.

Jesse and Eric in Texas. It's amazing to me how this picture looks like some of mom and dad 30 years ago

The fountain by the house on one of our walks.

When we get our own truck (if we pass everything) I may start a new blog - the artist truck driver or something along those lines. Pray for us when you think of us. I'm already stressing about school but looking forward to when we're on our own.

Tuesday

The rainbow last night. I lucked out on the 2nd one and got fireworks too.

Jesse and Spanky

The last 3 days I've been spending with friends and family because we're leaving soon. Tuesday I went bowling, lunch and to the mall with mom. Wednesday I met Tracy at Panera bread, really talked and went to Sams. Thursday I spent the day with Tricia. I forgot my camera Tues. and Wed. but got pictures of yesterday. I don't think I've ever been so many places in one day.
This is a courtyard at one of the model homes in _____can't remember the name park - where the navy base used to be.

We went to City Hall to look at the art exhibit. Christy Wood had a peice in it. I wish I'd taken a picture of it. This is the outside fountain - sculpture.

Inside city hall

Tricia at one of the model homes, sorry it's blurry Tricia.

We walked on Park Avenue in Winter Park.

These were two purses in one of the windows on Winter Park that looked more like art to me.

It was a fun day. Window shopping on Park Ave., almond crossiant at Whole Foods, coffee at Star Bucks (where Tricia got a free coffee with whipped cream and coconut) City Hall art exhibit, Florida Mall and the best pizza ever at California Kitchen (?), and finally model homes tour.

Monday

a little further along

This may not be that great and it's not even close to being finished but it's the 1st thing in ages I've done that I'm actually excited about. It's a Christmas card design.

Saturday

Jesse brought a kitten home to give to mom. Mom couldn't keep her and she came back here. We can't keep her because we already have 2 cats, a dog, a guinea pig and a hermit crab. She's very cute and we were going to take her to the animal shelter because we knew she would be adopted and fixed but Jesse disagreed and took her to work. She's mad and we're frustrated.
On another note, Corey and I went to the beach Thursday. Perfect day. I only got 2 pictures. The water was clear and smooth. We saw dolphin really close to shore, lots of them playing and jumping. I didn't realize how much I'd missed going to the beach. Here's Corey enjoying the convertible.

Sunday

I've always sketched in church. You know abstract-ish designs and scribbles.

But I found this website of a woman who sketches people in church.
http://www.paulabecker.com/blog
She inspired me. So this is Katie, Dorema and Brother Steve.

Wednesday

I went with Jesse to the stables the other day. This is a very nice place. I guess since the horses are worth about $50,000 each they get fancier accommodations. Andalusians and Lippazans are very beautiful.

This is the baby. He's in love with Jesse.

She can fly...

Monday

I've been awake since 5:45. I guess this is sleeping in for me. Everybody's off today except Jesse. She has to go in and feed the horses at 5. I think she and Corey are planning to go to the beach today. I think the road to New Smyrna hasn't been closed to fire, need to check, I think I might like to go. Problem, have to take CDL class A permit test 8:30am tomorrow, need to study guess I can't go. Am I ready? No. Study - I am sick of. Can you tell? I'm playing taking pictures and blogging. See the red apple - that's me.

Friday

Some roses mom gave me from a bush I gave her for mother's day a couple of years ago.
Some of my middle school and elementary school kids.

Thursday

Well school's out, yes!!!! I've spent today working trying to get the house back in order and then got this killer headache that stopped everything. Oh well.
Yesterday was good. Lots of work, lots of excitement, lots of unexpected gifts, and
unexpected emotions because I don't know for sure if I'm going back and I got attached to some of those little munchkins. I'll know around June 5-8 what's happening next.
The flowers were some of the gifts.
The other day Jesse took me for a walk on this trail near the house. It's really pretty and the dog loves it.
